Luke sage got his start on the stage in the first grade at Atkins Elementary School, performing a magic trick where he made a red scarf turn into a green scarf. He nearly choked himself to death twisting a cape around his neck tighter and tighter while waiting for his turn.
But that was it.
The moment that changed everything.
Eventually he quit choking himself with clothing but never left the stage. The eldest of The Crowe Hollerers brothers, Luke wanted a way to have it all. He wanted live theatre, storytelling, art and music to live on one stage, sort of the like the medicine shows of yesteryear.
Thus was born, fully formed, The Crowe Hollerers Medicine Show.
Each show kicks off with a high-octane Crowe Hollerers performance, complete with bleeding fingers, hammering banjos, kazoos and balancing acts atop kick drums. In between songs, storytelling enraptures audiences until after intermission when a one-act play closes out the night.
